Email from Royal Mail announcing eBay delivery to me?
Pleaseadvise
I've bought hundreds of items on eBay and this is the first time I've ever had an email from Royal Mail about a delivery. Two emails actually - the first sent before 6am this morning, saying an item from [eBay company I bought something from on Wednesday] is at the local office ready for delivery, and the second at 8.24 am saying the parcel has been delivered. It's after 9am now and the postman hasn't reached me yet.
I'm puzzled. The item isn't tracked, so why pay extra (I assume) to have emails sent to your customers when you haven't bothered to get a tracking number? Or could this be a fake email? But what would be the point? There are no attachments or links.

PPI on Natwest loan, Barclayloan, MBNA credit card, and Mortgagecare all repaid just for asking in 2012/2013!
Barclaycard - PPI refund refused 26/01/13, ombudsman upheld 12 May 2014, Barclays resisted until March 2015 - FOS say Barclays are calculating an offer, they have 8 weeks.

The business seller must have an account with Royal Mail and this is a perhaps a new courtesy feature showing the item is at your sorting office, some tracked business mail does not require a signature ,and it must be out in the van now hence the updates to say it is on its way. Paypal send similar emails indicating an item was posted, if sellers are on the ball at fill the tracking details in.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0

It comes as an add on with Royal Mail Tracked. I use it on all items which are too large for the letterbox.
It's 5p and worth a damn site more to me, saves a ton of work in regards to 'where is my item' messages, we rarely get them now.0 -
I'm surprised they charge, but that's probably down to RM software than anything else. If I send courier items and add the email address to the address details the emails would be sent automatically.theonlywayisup wrote: »
