Getting a Solicitor

Options
Hey folks,

I know this isn't a forum for discussion of solicitors but i'm hoping some of the other members will have experience of dealing with them in the past. I am looking for a solicitor who can defend any potential cases that may arise in the future (dangerous driving, accusations of drink driving etc) as i've now got friends who have written their cars off, lost their driving licenses and even gone to jail with no one to defend their cases at all. I know the police like to hunt down young drivers and I don't want them trying to wrongfully pin something on me. So in short, How do I go about getting a solicitor for the first time? even though I don't have any cases or criminal charges against me?

Tommo.
