New build - Should cracked window glass be replaced by the developer?
Apologies! I was just practicing what I would say to the developer if they used that as a plausible reason for the crack.
I've done some further reading and it looks like it's my fault for using static blackout material on my window. It looks like it absorbs enough heat to crack the window.
An expensive lesson learned. Thanks for the replies and I hope this helps others out.
If you're looking for black out options, you can get blackout thermal rollerblinds for cheap and they're easy to fit.
I got one years ago when working nights. Even during summer the room was almost pitch black. With the thermal option, it also kept the heat in during winter and heat out during summer
