speeding offence
Hi everyone i need to pick your collective brains, my wife was caught speeding (36 in a 30) the initial charge was sent to me being the registered keeper i returned the documents stating it was my wife who was driving the car that day (with her permission) all within the allotted time frame they give you.. This was back in jan 2013 this week she has received a summons to the magistrates:( court for 7th april requesting a means test form etc with no explanation why and i don't understand why this should be the case. there is an option to plead guilty by post, she has already admitted guilt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

forgot to mention that new forms were sent to my wife for her to fill in stating she was the driver on the day and these were duly returned within the time frame aswell.

It sounds like something has gone awry - either her reply naming herself as driver got lost in the post, or the ticket office sent an offer of a course/fixed penalty which never turned up. What's the summons for - speeding, failure to identify the driver or both?
Other possibility is that the paperwork took a few months to catch up with you and by te time they got her reply it was too late for a course. Was the original speeding incident in January, or earlier? And when did she send her reply?
If the trial date is 7th April then you have a problem - is that a typo?0 -
