City Car with automatic transmission
Are small cars available with an automatic transmission, something Citroen C1 size would be perfect, it would be bought new/1year old.
If so any recommendations guys?

You might get some ideas from this dealer which specialises in small automatics. I have no connection with them, other than being close geographically, so this should not be taken as an endorsement.
Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Somebody mentioned the VW UP is available with an autobox, so I assume there will be a Skoda and Seat version slightly cheaper.
I personally like the current Fiesta.
Very popular with Motability Users, as are Hyundais.
Jazz is unpopular in auto due to the CVT box.
New Clio has a double clutch automatic box now, though the new Clio is actually quite large.
I would steer clear of Citreon or Peugeot, never had much luck with their autos.
Renault don't seem to be as bad as they were 10 or so years ago when Clio autos used to break regularly as soon as they went past 60k!
Picanto is a nice little car, Corsa is decent enough.
All little cars will fit the bill, take her to a big Car Supermarket like Motorpoint, Fords of Winsfords or CarGiant, nor CarCraft or Trade Sales.
Have a good old fashioned poke around all the various options, the. Either buy there or head to a main dealer to buy new, or ex demo.
Ford still sell lots of ex Staff lease cars at 9months old or so.
A good option for a purchase with sensible miles and good provedence.0 -
Thanks for all the replies, all really helpful

Thanks for the warning:D
Someone down my street has a new UP and it looks really nice.
I like Fords and you always seem to get parts easily, we have a Mondeo( Husband's & new) and a Fusion (mine & old)
I didn't realise there were so many!, I guess I thought of automatics as big land barges.
I asked her what she would like and she said 'A little white one' so wish me luck in helping her.ISA £1675

Smart fortwo or forfour (same as a Colt) if you don't want new or an A-Class or a Toyota iQ for a newer option.

Don't buy one with the MHD (stop-start) they are a big bill waiting to happen! The cdi is nice or one of the turbo'd engines

https://www.smartz.co.uk has quite a few friendly members and will help (maybe even take a look if local to you if you are looking 2nd hand!)
