Child Tax Credit deducted from Income Support?

I'm a full Time carer for my wife and we have just had Our first child, and I've just applied for child tax credit

before I applied for Child Tax Credit I was getting
£59.75 carers
£130.30 Income support
per week

After just receiving Child Tax Credit my last income support payment wasn't made, I rang up and they apologized, it was a glitch??? After checking the payment, not what i was expecting.

I'm now apparently getting
£67.58 Income support, along with
£62.72 Child Tax Credit
£59.75 carers
per week

are these figures right???

According to both, Direct.Gov benefit Adviser and Entitiledto.co.uk
I should still be getting £130.30 Income Support, as well as £62.75CTC and £59.75 Carers

The guy I secondly rang up to explain the situation to me had absolutely no idea if Child Tax Credit actually affected income support, than blamed it on the new benefit system then suggested I'm above the benefit cap (which we're not and wife gets DLA), anyway he's sent me an appeal pack as I was apparently not happy with the decision.

So I would like to know who is right? Does Child Tax Credit get deducted from my Income Support?
As I really don't know.

i'm a bit cpnfused as to why you were receiving £130 income support as well as carers allowance.
usually the income support is reduced by tha amount of the carers allowance and then a carers premium added.
your wife obviously receives DLA, so attracts a disability premium.. but does she met middle or high ratre DLA care?

child tax credits have no impacty at all on income support

Figures for income support (old rates) off my entitlement

    Me and partner £111.45
    Partner is disabled £43.25
    Carers Premium 32.60
    = £187.30

    - Carers £58.45
    = £128.85

Don't have exact newer rates figure

    But it's now £130.30

    also she has
    care-middle
    mobility-low

i see no reason at all for your income support to be reduced, as the premiums are correct. the child tax credit doesnt affect the amiount of income support you receive.
you need to phone them and ask why they have reduced your benefit

    thanks for your reply
Well like I said the guy I spoke to had no idea how benefits worked?? just that carers and child tax credit have been deducted, from the total amount of income support leaving me with £67.58

Apologies if wording was a bit wrong, he did say Child tax credit has been deducted, but when I said "I thought that didn't affect income support" he didn't know

Should I ring back up and try and speak to somebody who knows what they are talking about or wait for the appeal pack to come and maybe go to citizens advice?

you shouldnt need to appeal anything. they shouldnt have deducted child tax credits from income support
    you should receive
    income support (couple rate)
    disability premium
    carers premium

    MINUS
    carers allowance

    phone them back up

    Again Thanks alot

I've rang back up, A very helpful woman answered,
I just said "I've just received Child Tax Credit and it's been taken off my income support", immediately told me that doesn't sound right.

Turned out somehow my child tax credit was registered as working tax credit in the calculations, she didn't understand it either.

Getting a call back Monday morning just to confirm it's been sorted.

Edit just got a phone call back
Apparently Income support wasn't aware of our newborn
and the child tax credit was deducted as income.
