answer: The Storr
Unfolding the magical landscape of Skye.
In August 2005, Environmental arts based charity, NVA brought an unforgettable installation to one of Europe's most hauntingly beautiful landscapes - the high cliffs of Coire Faion and the Storr, here on the Isle of Skye.
For six weeks around midnight, groups, equipped with head torches and walking sticks, were guided through this inspiring landscape as the words of Skye's legendary poet Sorley MacLean echoed down the mountain.
This book of essays, photographs and diary excerpts from the event The Storr: Unfolding Landscape captures one of the greatest single site-specific environmental artworks ever to be staged in Britain of anywhere in the world.
The Storr: Unfolding Landscape is published by Luath Press Ltd. For further information about this and other titles, visit: www.luath.co.uk. Photographs from top right to bottom: Approaching Coire Faoin by Alan McAteer, Lighting Tests by Slight and Storr Ascent by Simon Carter.
