And what is an "electricity supply number", and whats the situation if that's left blank on my bill?

Each property in the UK that has a mains gas supply has an MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number), sometimes referred to as an 'M' number.

The format of a MPRN consists of between 6 and 10 numerical digits only.

Then there is a gas meter serial number which will be on the gas meter itself

For electricity, there is an MPAN (Meter Point Administration Number)
    This takes the following format:

Again, it refers to the property. Sometimes referred to as the Supply number.

It might be worth contacting your supplier to find out why they have left this blank on your bill.
