Help UKPC parking fine.

Options
Hi i have posted on here before about recieving a parking fine last november. I was parked on the local cinemas carpark. There are no ticket machines it is a free carpark. There is a 13 screen cinema, 4 restaurants, a gym, a bowling ally and a nightclub all on this carpark. however there are only about 2-300 parking spaces. So i went to the cinema had already purchased my tickets and went to ark up but there were no bay parking spaces. I didnt have any change on me to park anywere else and the nearest parking is a 20minute walk away. So i parked up on the kurb, nowere near any yellow lines or obstructing any vehicles. When i came out of the cinema 3 hrs later i had a oarking ticket on my car.

I wrote to them and said that i hadnt done anything wrong, but they relied saying that on the way into the carpark there is a sign on the wall stating you can only park in a bay. So i replied and said there is inadequate parking for the premisis and as i had already brought my ticket there was nothing else i could do. They rejected my claims and game me an £80 parking fine.

SO i researched it and found on this forum that other people had the same problem and they were told to just ignore the letter. i have een doing this for the past few months. after a couple of weeks i got a letter telling me my fine had gone up to £140. So i still ignored them and had a few more few over the next 6-8 weeks telling me if i didnt pay they were taking me to court and issuing me with a ccj.

So i kept ignoring them and then over the past few weeks i have received letters saying htey were dropping the fine from £140 to £120. Then they dropped it back to £80.

I have today recieved a letter saying this is the final demand and that they will be taking me to court if i havnt paid within 7 days.
HHHHEEEELLLPPPP!!!! i really dont want to be taken to court because i wont be able to afford to, i am going to struggle to pay the £80 fine as it is. On the flip side i dont want to pay the fine as i feel i idnt do anything wrong given the lack of parking. This is my forst ever ticket and am really worried. Please could someone help me!!

Thank You

Sorry but read this reply I just did elsewhere, please don't think the word numpty was directed at you or any specific poster - it was frustration as I am just bored by this panic when we have the letters in full on this very forum anyway and you could just be playing snap with them all!:

When you are getting the debt collector letters (and you can see a picture preview of all of them in the PPC letter chains thread anyway!) then don't let one of them near the end (when they are getting desperate) panic you.

You don't need help, you are already doing the right thing, and it's NOT a fine and will NOT go to Court. Here is a poster confirming this today:

    Clear enough advice?! :money:

Oh, that and the fact UKPC never ever do Court anyway...!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
