Sofabeds on Ebay - ??

Hi, I need a new sofa (we dont use it much - but occaisonally have guests so need a sofa bed).

Only really have about £100 to spend

Has anybody bought one of the 'Supra' Faux Leather Sofa beds or 'Click Clack' ones on ebay which are around £90 to £120? and anbody know the cheapest palace to get them?

What are they like? Will they so as an occasional sofa/sofabed or are they too cheap & to steer clear of?

Would rather a faux leather (cant afford real leather) as it is easier to clean if spillages etc or if the dog jumps on it!

You might be better off with a futon, more likely to get a deal on something that isn't utter crap.
Faux leather is horrible to sit on, you get sweatty, yuk!

Or just buy a decent inflatable mattress. You can get them for £25ish, plus an electronic pump for fast inflation.

Set your sights lower than palaces;)

I know someone in the furniture business and faux leather tends not to be the best buy.
I've not looked recently, but it used to be that 'seconds' would be a good buy. If the seller will tell you what the fault is it can be a good deal, furniture will often be marked as seconds and not have any noticeable problem. Try a local search, you may have a seller near by with their own delivery in your area.

If you don't mind second hand then the other place to look are charity shops that have furniture stores. (The only one I know of is British Heart as there's one down the road from me, but I'm sure there's others.)

I've seen sofa beds and futons in there for less than £100 (can't vouch for how nice they are but that's another matter)

I gave a bed to British Heart Foundation shop, they sold it for £30 more than I paid for it new!

Try checking with your local council - ours co-ordinates a furniture recycling charity which collects old furntiture and reconditions it for sale.

Their pricing is so off sometimes, they had refurbished washing machines for £199, Argos had a big sign in their window advertising brand new ones for £109.

Then they had the most beautiful dressing table for £30, I'd have quite happily paid over £50 for it because it was lovely - just wouldn't fit in my house!

They are low for a sofa, we have one in our spare room it's also quite short for a bed...

Try Ikea Bargain corner if you have a local ish one, tuesdays used to be extra 10% discount in Bristol at least
