I have an interview soon with Jobcentre. They want to see a current bank statement but ive looked all over and cannot find one.Im in no way rich but obviously they wont believe it till they see proof. I dont reckon they will accept a mini statement. Any ideas on what im supposed to do.I dont want to delay my claim as i will have run out of cash in the next couple of weeks

request a new one? they might accept a mini statement with the last dozen transactions shown, give them a ring and see what they say?0

cost a fiver each at my bank which would mean ten pound for me and my partner. Cant really afford to throw money away like that. I will ring and ask but i doubt they will take mini statements. I seem to remember having the problem a few years ago when i last claimed a benefit. I had to wait till my next statement turned up0

Do you use internet banking?
Perhaps you could print out a statement from there?
I had to do this as I don't get paper statements anymore!

Im still not confident enough to use it0

You should only need a bank statement if you have savings over £5,500. This is the point where verification is needed. If you have had savings over this amount recently, they will also ask to see a statement.
You may find the bank statement request is simply to get the betails for your benefit payments, ie where to pay them !0
