I'm thinking of doing a degree but all the gov financial info seems to assume you're about 19 and the MSE guide doesn't seem to address it directly. My pension would keep me going day to day but I wondered if I could get a student loan or other financial help as obviously i'd probably not be able to have much of a working life after getting degree but why should I be discriminated against because of my age? Anyone know what the rules are and how to go about it?

Age
There are no age limits for students applying for a Tuition Fee Loan or for any of the grants. However, the student would need to be less than 60 years of age on the first day of the first academic year of their course to be eligible for a Maintenance Loan.
