Advice please - buying

Put an offer in which was rejected and told by EA that vendor will not accept lower than £xxx. Told EA to forget it then as we cannot go that high (although we can go higher than our initial offer but not to the price the EA stated).

This was left like this a week ago. We really like the house but cannot go up to the price EA stated. We are not sure what to do as we don't know if the EA is bluffing to get higher offers or if vendor actually said about the minimum offer price. Would you contact EA and remind of our interest or keep away/poker face and hope vendors come back to us if they don't get other offers?

  • I would either stick to your original offer or say the little extra you can afford to pay, a little market research (zoopla house prices) will give you an idea of what prices houses sell for in that road/area, so it will then me a matter of how much that house is worth to you or your budget. Good luck

If you go back with anything other than what the EA specified they wanted , they will then assume you can be led up to the price specified , if they havent come back after a week i would assume they werent bluffing and perhaps the vendor has reason (i.e lots of interest) to hold out...

Leave your original offer on the table and keep looking
