The OS on this computer is Windows Xp Pro. Can anybody help me to identify the cause of these problems. Sooooo frustrating. Pages take ages to download, then I get these messages, Can't find page, or Internet Explorer Not Responding. Sometimes OE can't find host. I have a wireless conection via Metronet. Ads Gone, Firewall, Norton System Works. I don't have any spyware.
Thanks

I would try doing a system restore first of all. On the start menu click on the "Help and Support Centre" type in "System restore". On the menu of things that it finds it will say "Run System Restore Wizard" Click on that. You can then basically click on the calendar to the month when it was ok, find a date in that month which is showing up as bold, follow the on screen instructions and it will restore the PC to the settings (and hopefully, the speed) it was working on at that time. You will now lose any work that has been saved on the PC since then.
That is always the first thing I do when I have a problem Hope it works!Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006

Do the problems occur with a wired connection?
Check out Metronet's online troubleshooting guides - it looks excellent.0 -
Thanks Anya,
I have tried going back to every restore point in March and April> It isn't able to find a restore point that it can restore to. So frustrating.0 -
The Metronet guide sounds a goods idea. I will try that.
