Bit of an update on my quest to be debt free:
Apart from doing all the above, I also received statements from an old loan and calculated £866 worth of charges which I've asked to be returned.
I also had a form to fill out from Mint as I purchased something on my card back in the February and the company went into administration before fulfilling my order so hopefully will get the £45 refund from Mint.0 -
Found a passbook for a buiding society account I had sort of forgotten about. There's £25 in, so I have written to ask them to close the account and send me a cheque - every little helps at this stage of the month :jOfficial DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Why not boost incoming money by registering with amazon.co.uk as a seller? It costs nothing, and it's a great way to get rid of old books, unwanted gifts etc. Although amazon charge a commission on everything sold, they pay your money direct into your bank - no need to mess around with Paypal.
Although you might think there's not a great market for used books, as long as you describe your book accurately, you can offer it for sale for as little as a penny and still make money. How? When selling, check out the postal allowance amazon allow you to charge. For small books, this allowance will exceed to cost of posting and packing, giving you a profit.
Before listing any book for sale, use the ISBN number on the book to make sure it gets listed in the right place, and to checkout what other people are charging for the same thing.
As an additional tip, if you really get into this, you will find that some books that are no longer published fetch high prices. To take this a stage further, if you feel really crafty, if you find a book like this it's worth checking out the amazon.com site where you may be able to buy a cheap copy, and flog it for more on amazon.co.uk.0 -

I've done a few DFW things today:
Picked up a package of bulk buy hay fever tablets from the post office (thanks MSE Martin :money: )
Lunch was home made mackerel pate on toast (one pack of peppered mackerel fillets, one pack of Tesco's own soft cheese, squeeze of lemon and teaspoon of horseradish sauce - all mashed up) Made it on Tuesday - it lasts for ages!
Dinner was leftover Spag Bol from dinner with flatmate on Weds - still tasty today!
Posted a few items on Ebay
Only spent a couple of £s on 4 pints of milk and choc covered peanuts & raisins (to keep me going as I spent all evening working on my college assignments!)
SuSu1871£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
Finally debt free!0
