getting sat nav ready for trip to Tenerife

hi all, going to Tenerife on Tuesday and have borrowed my brothers garmin nuvi 50lm sat nav for whilst i am there, he told me it has europe maps on but am having trouble looking for the tenerife map selection so i can get the sat nav ready for when i am there. can anyone help please ?

The Canaries may not be there! To check, use the world map to zoom in to the islands. If they stay as islands, rather than expand to show the main trunk routes and resort streets, it is not on there! (As they are not in Europe geographically)0

I dont know your model but on my Garmin you do have to tell it what country you want, even going from England to Wales0

TBH there are so few actual roads in Tenerife you've got to be quite talented to get lost. And you get given free maps at the airport.0

If you have full Europe maps, the Canaries show as full coverage on the Garmin site.

Seconded; we covered pretty much the whole island with just a tourist map, including some cracking deserted off-the-beaten track mountain roadsThe questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
