Not feeling so good today and feel I am not going to bring much good to the thread.
I hope normal service will be resumed shortly and I am back trying to find the bargains as much as the rest of you.
When my Dad died we had a hearse with horses ( he was Italian and that is what he wanted). On the way to the cemetery we stopped at traffic lights and the sensors could not see the horses. So we waied and waited and finally my brother had to get out and tell the driver in the car in front to overtake the hearse so the lights would change. Also the undertakers did not take everyone's names at the church ( because we did not ask!).
Sending you big hugs and have a good rest and some time to yourself now.0 -
Would you accept a part ex?

A big thankyou to those of you who suggested using the free toms to make dinner. We had a very nice MSE dinner last night.
2 tins of toms thrown in blender, 1 chopped onion and threw in a beef stock cube (I need to invest in some herbs!)
Used nearly a whole bag of pasta and a tin of cheapie meatballs and threw the whole lot together.
Think the whole lot probably cost 60p and I was dead chuffed with the result
I'm not a chef but this could actually be quite fun, I'm so glad you guys gave me ideas :THistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

If you add a bit of puree, dried herbs and a spoon of sugar it makes a fab sauce. I change mine around a bit by stirring in a couple of tablspoons of Philadelphia it makes a fab creamy tomato sauce. I also add a teaspoon mustard and a splash soy sauce.0 -

Thankyou, will make note for next time.
I don't tend to have puree but can get some with the parioli mocs
Never have phillie or mustard here but do have dairylea so might chuck that in and could grab some cheapie mustard.
I was honestly expecting to have to throw the lot in the bin (which for free toms, onion and stock cube wouldn't have been the end of the world)Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

Thank you, you have just sorted out my dinner dilemma for today. Just been looking in the freezer but nothing I really fancied/ could be bothered faffing around with.
I've got some whoopsied baby courgettes in the fridge that I wasnt sure what to do with so will make the 'Elite Par Tom' sauce and bung them in. Bit of Cathedral City grated on top- I'm looking forward to it already! :T
Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x
EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!0 -
