artha you seem to know your stuff but how representative of the people out there are you?

Not very I don't think. Although the sales people at my Mazda dealership deny that there is a problem with DPFs and have never heard of anyone having a problem (lying slimeballs) the technicians in the service dept tell a different story. They have had quite a few Mazda 6 limping into the garage. When drivers ignore the DPF warning light the system eventually shuts down the turbo to protect the engine and won't allow the engine to go above 1500 rpm.

I have read Honest Johns forum from time to time to get the real story on certain cars.

I got trouted in B&Q today :eek: they have the grafted plants in so off I went to buy some, armed with my B&Q discount card thing to get 20% off. There was a 3 for 2 on all plants on. I spent £30 ( after 3 for 2 discount) about £25 of that was on things that should have qualified for the 20% off. The SA told me I couldn't have the 3 for 2 promotion and my 20% off :mad:.....so I asked her to scan my barcode and she wouldn't :mad: I really wanted the plants, so I paid and Ive emailed B&Q about it........ I like B&Q s complaint form, it asks for the name of the SA :D she was a right mardy one :(

What I mean artha is that a lot of people will run their diesel cars on short journeys etc and it's all problems

As I said it's all about understanding. I only do about 6k a year and its mostly short journeys interspersed with a blast at 2200 rpm to burn off the soot before the system starts to try and do it for me. By the time my car gets to danger mileage it will be >10 years old and time to scrap it. Mind you my last car (Toyota) was 15 years old before I scrapped it due to signs of the head gasket starting to fail.

Not only trouts at supermarkets then... She sounds like a right bag. Hope you get somewhere with your email.

Is it 20% off this weekend with the membership thingy on everything? Could do with some garden things.
