Ive been waiting to go into hospital for a minor procedure under anaesthetic for the best part of a year. It's a gynae thing so I won't go into details. Nothing life threatening, just something that will make life a little easier for me.

Ive had 3 pre ops so far. A pre OP only last 3 months so I keep having to have another one when 3 months passes without a date to go in. 2 weeks ago the hospital rang me, saying they had a cancellation slot the next day and could I fill it. Obviously in my circumstances Thats too short notice to make the necessary arrangements. So I explained that and told them I'd need at least a few days. WELL they've only rang this morning and told me Theres a slot this afternoon........IF haven't eaten or drank after 7am:mad::mad:

Im so peed off Ive had nothing but praise for the NHS in this area, Ive had dealings with many different depts and have always been very impressed. But I've now given up on this lot, so badly organised. I totally accept that there are emergencies and more needy cases but how mad to spend time and money on all those pre OP examinations and tests for nothing........my current pre OP is 3 months old on Wednesday I told the lady on the phone this morning to take me off the list. Im going to discuss with my GP. Im either going to leave it and go on as I am or find out about have it done privately .
