A Question for Landlords

Hello to any Landlords out there. Can anyone advise are there any websites I can search on to ascertain if there are any properties for rental in my area Leyland, Lancashire, that we can rent direct from a landlord who will accept people that are semi-retired and claim part housing benefit.
I have read some of the postings regarding Letting Agents on this website and I prefer not to use a Letting Agent. (I know not all are tarred with the same brush but they also charge a fortune).
I have read also that not all Landlords are great either, but there must be some good ones out there.
We currently have been renting the property for the last 3 years direct from the Landlord and he is increasing the rent to a sum that we can't afford.
So any help most welcome.
Thanks

Do your local council have a housing service whereby they introduce you to approved landlords? Avoiding letting agents is seriously going to limit the market. Do you have a guarantor or can you pay a hefty whack of rent up front?
Have you seen this?

I don't know of a website, how about taking an advert in a community magazine, we get one called The Buzz every month with local business adverts in it.
I'm a LL and don't use an agent, our tenant goes to the same church as us. Use your network!I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.

Thanks for your replies,
Fire Fox, I have checked with Local Council and they don’thave any lists of approved Landlords.
I am registered on Selectmove which is part of a websitethat social housing (progress group) advertise their dwellings on, but hayhohave been registered with these for approx. 10 yrs.
I do have a good bond available and a guarantor but refuseto use them.
Happycamel, we don’t have a community magazine here (theywent bankrupt) we have a local newspaper but then again it only advertised EA.I do use the network but have come to an end as to where to look.
Anyway people once again thank you, and if anyone else hasany ideas they would be welcome.

Honestly I think you are being too restrictive, you are on partial benefits, don't want to use a letting agent nor offer a guarantor.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Hi,
Gumtree is normally a good place to look in my area - not sure about Leyland. Even if there's nothing there suitable you could place your own 'wanted' advert and you may get a response.
Good luck with the search.£10 a day challenge
