Even if you don't see the transaction, it has already affected your available balance.
Nothing wrong with paying before the due date or even before the statement. It's not a prepayment. What's really wrong is paying before spending, i.e. putting the card in credit.
That said, the daily interest is just 0.033%. There is no point in rushing with payments 'just after' for the sake of a few pence.0
