Hi everyone,
me again with another question. I've put my details on the entitled to website as i have started my maternity allowance and it shows the HB and council Tax will be reduced because of it. Is this right? I thought MA is not counted as income. With so many things to buy for the baby due in few weeks time - cot, buggy......... i don't know how we're going to manage to pay bills first of all and then think of the baby.
Any thoughts?

Maternity Allowance IS counted as income, in full.
There used to be a "Maternity Payment" - a one off amount to help with cot, pram etc, not sure if it's under "Social Fund" payments and might be re-payable, or if it's still available. Might be worth a shot?0
