Energy price comparison sites with wrong information

okay, so they come up for you in the East Midlands, buy why not me in London? Wywth, just to be clear, do you work for EHL? You sound like an apologist. I'm trying to make the point that an energy company that, according to uSwitch is the cheapest fixed rate energy company in the uk, isn't on EHL. You seem to be trying to do everything you can to say they are and that everything's ok. But it isn't. Run a quote on dual fuel in London. Flow Energy aren't there. But everyone else says they're the cheapest. Don't you care about people saving money?!0

I do not work for EHL, and the point I am making is your claims are without foundation.
They do appear.
You've failed to supply me with the information I've requested from you twice now, so I used the average figures of 16500 kWh of has and 3300 kWh of electricity supplied in the London region
According to EHL, Spark energy come out cheapest at £1025 p.a. and Flow energy come in second cheapest at £1120 p.a. when looking at the full market comparison results.0 -
Eh? If I run those figures I get EDF and NPower as the cheapest fixed rate and my point is that that's not right.
my figures are 14400 gas and 3105 elec, post code sw40 -

You are correct, that is not right what you have done
Using your own figures, again Spark energy comes out cheapest at £947 p.a. with Flow energy coming in second place at £1023 p.a.
How do those figures compare to your own calculations?0 -
I don't understand where you're seeing this!! So, I go to energyhelpline.com and run the figures above. I then choose fixed rate deals and I get nPower and EDF not Spark and Flow Energy. have I got my wires crossed?0

Sorry, I didn't restrict my search to fixed tariffs only.
The Spark energy tariff is not a fixed one.
If I do restrict the search to fixed tariffs, then Flow energy comes out cheapest at the stated £1023 p.a, with EDF Blue +Price Promise February 2015 coming second at £1085 p.a0 -
Change the method of preferred payment from the default "Monthly Direct Debit" to "Any of the above methods" as EHL classify Flow energy as "Monthly in Advance DD"0
-
I'm not seeing that at all. I don't see why you'd see that but I wouldn't. Very strange.0
-
oh I see! Yes, I was doing monthly direct debit. Not sure that that's a particularly visible place to display details about a supplier but I get the rationale. Thanks for your help!0

I thought that energy price comparison sites were supposed to compare all prices across the market. But I recently compared on the Energy Helpline site, looking for a fixed price deal, and the ones I got shown are NOT the cheapest deals on the market.
They're not obliged. They can only work with what energy company's they have agreements with. Smaller energy comparison companies are often squeezed out of the market by the big boys. A bit like what Google search does to SME's. Domination. :mad:0
