I've been using SVP for a few years and have only had one problem with some broken disks on arrival which they sorted out with no fuss at all. Recommend them to all my friends who have all been pleased with the service and prices as well.
Never used DD, but their email support seems to be pretty quick and efficient as I wanted to know where their warehouse was(in Dundee btw).
I'd certainly consider using DD if SVP didn't have what I wanted(or were significantly cheaper) but I tend to stick to what I know so SVP will have my custom for the forseeable future.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Never heard of or used DD.
Have used SVP many times. They are an excellent outfit.
Only once had a problem (they missed an item from my order). One quick phone call got it sorted - very customer focussed and usually highly efficient.

Personally speaking, I would go with SVP, although this is only due to my past experiences with them, including when a problem presents itself. I've ordered from them a lot over the past few years, and not really had any issues, but a couple of weeks ago I was waiting on 3 packs of media and the courier had basically bashed the bejeebus out of the package, and one of the packs had exploded from its wrapping and all the discs were scratched. I let SVP know and they arranged for a different courier to come and pick up the damaged pack and drop off a fresh pack for no further charge, they even bent over backwards to accomodate a change in the courier date that I needed, the day before it was due.
While it might not perfect, I personally perfer to stick with a service who I know wont just play dumb/deaf on first sight of a screw-up.. well maybe I'd be tempted if the other prices were reeeeally good, what sort of money saver would I be otherwise0 -
I can't fault either company. Had my first fault with discs the other day with SVP. E-mailed them, got a response within the hour telling me a new box were being dispatched as replacement. As an earlier post said, coming from Norn Iron, P+P makes a big difference, so I see who is cheaper (specials) when I bulk buy. Delivery from both companies is faultless.0

Unfortunately RAMBOX only seem to stock Conrexx products, so I refuse to buy anything from them.
SVP and DiskDepot are the only places I buy media from now.0 -
In my opinion avoid them with a bargepole. I ordered 100 DVD+R and 100 CDR, a set of Ink Cartridges for my CX3200 and a previos thread that allowed me to get free postage if I ordered the R200 ink cartridges.
This is my story:
Recieved my package, containing 100 DVD-R, 100 CDR top ones scratched, my cx3200 inks (only good thing as they are cheap), and none of the R200 inks.
So I contacted them, sent an email, had a response the next day, saying they would look into it. 3 days later nothing, Sent another email, replied saying they would look into it, 2 days later, a snotty email which I have attached for all to see:
hi there
I have had a quick look into this for you.
I have spoken to City Link to confirm the weight of the package, this is our first step in checking shortages as they take an exact weight of the package for billing purposes.
City Link have confirmed the package is 5kg which would mean all the items were present. Obviously we wouldn't just go on this evidence unless it was showing underweight so our next step would be to check the packing cameras to see what was actually packed.
This would be very time consuming so seen as you did get the incorrect disks I will just send out the set of ink regardless if it was missing or not.
I will get it dispatched today for you.
I take this as I am a liar, and basically I made the mistake of ordering the wrong disks to what they wanted to send me. Absolutely disgraceful. I dont even have a printer to use the free inks in, I just complained on principle and for them to tell me that I was lying (in a roundabout way) has really annoyed me.
The fact of the matter is what is the chances that a package weighed 5KG exactly? My initial complaint was only relating to the inks, would I wanna lie about this.
I have sent them an email this morning basically asking them to arrange collection of the DVD-R and a refund on principle.
All I would say to anyone that this is a personal experience with DISK DEPOT so be warned. I would not say it is a big company, as one of my emails was sent at 07:10 in the morning, it just seems like a one man band from his home, I dont know it just doesnt seem right.
Thanks for listening I had to clear my chest

I tend to just use SVP as they stock the high quality brands such as Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim.
Don't like to use the cheaper discs as I've found they don't always hold the information on the discs longer term, due to the dyes used.0 -

but from what you say diskdepot may have to be avoided, i know svp never cause issues,
i think they both have a pretty poor selections of disks and could expand their selections big time.
I have found https://www.aprmedia.com to have a different selection of disks, not the usual ones0 -
i did once have a problem with svp.
their order process told me i had ordered but i didnt get anything.
i called them up and they identified it was definitely a bug in their software.
as the order was now going to be late and i spent 25 minutes explaining on 2 phone calls to uncover their bug i asked for free postage.
they said no, so i asked they enclose a few free disks to cover my wasted time and inconvenience. they said no again so i asked for the owner. he said he was the owner. so i told him this was unreasonable of him as he had inconvenienced me and i was getting a late delivery. he said "tough luck".
i think that stinks so i cancelled the order and thanked him for wasting my time..0
