Possible fake item - how do I proceed?

I'm an eBay novice, so please be nice to me!
A week ago, I bought AppleCare for my iPhone from a highly rated eBay seller. For those of you who don't have Apple stuff, Apple provide you with a one year warranty when you buy your phone, and you buy AppleCare to top it up. It's normally about £60, but some resellers have it for half of that on eBay. Feedback suggested that this seller's AppleCare items were legitimate, and he had a long standing selection of positives.
My purchase arrived a few days later, but when I tried to register it with Apple (It's all done on voucher codes), they were not happy that it was a valid voucher code, and would not apply the insurance. They asked for proof of purchase, so I sent them my eBay receipt. Apple said this was not enough, and my eBay seller should send his receipt for the original wholesale purchase of AppleCare products. I asked him for this last Thursday, and he said he would send it. We're now a week on, and he has not.
How do I proceed now? Do I chase up the seller again, or start down the claim route? I wish I'd just bitten the bullet and bought insurance direct from Apple now
