Moving a door

I would like to put french doors in between my lounge and dining room and change the location of the door in the lounge. At the moment access to both the lounge and dining room is off the hallway. I am very limited in where I can put the sofa in my lounge (due to radiators and fireplace) and if I changed the location of the door it would be helpful.

How do I go about doing this? The wall between the lounge and d/room is a supporting wall I think - does this make a difference, i.e. do I need to put something in to support the wall/ceiling?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

yes a supporting steel beam will need to be installed, you will also need to check with your local authority building control office whether you need "building regulations approval" give them a call they will be able to help!
