Not sure if this thread should be under mobile phones or here but will try here first. My OH has a newish Galaxy S3 phone and from time to time when we are out he will take a pic or two which I should like to post on my facebook. This happened last night.
The idea was when we got home to bluetooth the images to my Win 7 pc for me to save and also display on fb. (My pc has bluetooth and I have a small elderly LG phone which takes rather poor pictures but does work fine with bluetooth. Basically on my LG phone I select a photo, click on the Send option and it asks me if I want to send it as a message or to bluetooth it. If I am at home I select bt it, open bluetooth on pc, tell it I am receiving, send the photo from the phone and up it pops on my pc screen. Works the other way round too)
OH's Galaxy S3 is unable to do this. When I select bluetooth option for a photo on it, it finds my pc ok, pairs with it, says it is sending the photo, but then fails to do so and reports a failure. We have checked all the settings on phone and all the bluetooth settings are correct, also my pc is correctly identified as available for pairing. As I said, it gets as far as sending and then fails.
Looking around the internet it seems this might be an issue with bluetooth v4 and Win 7. I think I have bt v4 (am guessing a bit as I cannot find anywhere anything which says what version but I only installed it late last year.) Still it all works fine with my elderly non android LG phone and my Win 7 pc so why not with OH's S3.
Any suggestions?

Check for S3 update via OTA or Kies .

I have an S3 - Can I suggest:
you can upload to Facebook direct from the pic on the phone.
view the pic in gallery, touch the icon at top that is 3 dots connected by 2 lines. choose "see all" and you can select facebook (If your FB account is set up on your phone)
OR
plug your phone into your laptop using the usb cable that is part of the charger. you can then directly find the pic in the DCIM folder, and drag-copy it to your laptop
should help!Friendly greeting!0 -
I have the same problem and have ended up doing as suggested by dan above - not as convenient, but less frustrating. OP - if you find a solution - please post it!0

Another solution would be to use something like Airdroid to transfer the pictures wirelessly. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0

i suspect its not the phone maybe there is an updated driver for the pc have you tried unistalling the driver then downloading new one and reinstalling again and doing the same for the phone as said before.
also if you got an s3 why not just add it on the home network thru the router via wifi and spit across that way as a thought in the meantime?0 -
Not a fix for the Bluetooth (which can be a bit tricky to get to work sometimes) but an alternative.
Once you have set it up to find the PC, ES File Explorer (in the market) will let you move files between the 2 devices.
I find this extremely useful.
Both PC and phone have to be on the same WiFi network.0
