Led to believe a property was freehold

    My house built in 1954 is freehold, my mams, two doors down, built in 1964 by the same builder is leasehold with a peppercorn rent for 999 years, i personally wouldn't buy any leasehold house, just freehold. But thats just personal choice, it probably doesn't make any difference in the long run, i just don't want to pay ground rent every year, or ask permission to do something with my house.
