East Kent NHS withdraws Court Claim

Another case from Pepipoo, where East Kent Hospitals were trying to extort over £700 from an NHS employee whose job involved delivering and unloading heavy and sensitive medical equipment - full story here: http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=77364
After getting a court claim via Roxburghe / Michael Sobell, the lady sent in a defence, and a court date was set for 1st May. One of my colleagues on Pepipoo helped her with an amendment to the defence which, in addition to the usual contractual points, asserted that the Hospital were in breach of Health & Safety legislation by attempting to deny her the ability to park in the grounds.
Yesterday she had a letter from Sobell stating that the claim was discontinued. And no doubt, more public money wasted trying to pursue this ridiculous piece of nonsense.

Presumably Roxburghe didn't take this case on a "no win, no fee" basis. So they are laughing all the way to the bank while the taxpayer picks up the tab. I nice little earner! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It would be interesting to find out how much the NHS are wasting on this little venture. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
This is a ridiculous waste of NHS money and harassment of an employee as well! :mad:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
