Studying in Southampton

Hi,

I'm due move to Southampton next year for a bachelor course. I'll only be staying a year though and I'm starting to think about where I can get accommodation for the year. Ideally a place close enough to the Uni to walk or cycle would be good. Anybody got any tips what to look out for?

Please tips only, one year is still quite a bit and I'm under no illusion that a lot could change until then. ;)

I didn't know you needed to do a course to be a bachelor, how have I managed all these years without a qualification?

Speak to the university, they will be able to point you in the right direction. I have a family member who owns 3 or so student digs in Southampton and lets them through the university. This makes it secure for you as a tenant and them as a landlord.

I've checked what they have on offer, but I was just wondering if there were any "secret tips" that people may have. ;) Thanks for the information!

I live in Southampton but have literally no idea what kind of "tips" you would be expecting to get hold of?! It's just like finding housing anywhere...

Also not sure how you've checked the uni housing list as sassh is password protected for current students only.

I'm at a partner school at the moment doing a foundation course and we've been given a limited access login to get more information. ;)
