Looking to buy a tv for the guest bedroom and came across Finlux, their tv seem competive price but have not heard of this company before. Some good reviews on amazon. I am looking for a tv up to 26 ins that can record as well via usb. I have the panasonic TX-L24X5B in mind. Also cannot make up my mind either to get a smart tv for back when computer plays up, any advice will be much appreciated!! Thanks

I've got a 47" Finlux 3D TV and it's a fine budget model. There is some pixellation on SD upscaling but no worse than I have seen on more expensive sets. You probably wouldn't notice on a 26" anyway.
We did have a problem this weekend (no sound) and called CS (UK based). They were fine as well.
It was an 0845 number but they took our details and phoned back a short while afterwards. They apologised, said it was a known problem (it gets stuck on mute) that happens occasionally but they don't know why, and talked the wife through a simple reset procedure. All good now.
The downside is that their menus, EPG etc. are very basic. Room for improvement there.
I'm typing this using a Samsung TV/monitor and I wish I'd bought the Finlux equivalent for approximately 25% less.
PS: I've not tried recording through the USB so I can't comment on that aspect but we did plug in a pair of USB speakers when the sound wasn't working and they worked OK.0 -
Finlux were a good name when they were Finlux. Now they are just another Vestel brand. Go for the Panasonic.0

Think about what exactly you want to do with a 'smart TV'. Now check that the TV you want is capable of doing it. Just because they say it's smart doesn't mean it can do much useful!0
