"We cannot pay you because you have not paid, or been credited with, enough National Insurance Contributions."
"We have used the tax years ending 5 April 2010 and 5 April 2011 to assess your claim."
Why have they used these years and not the years 2011 and 2012?
Can anyone help, there is so much to read on the subject, if I read everything it may take me until next year :rotfl:
Anyone please
TIA

Because the 2012 tax year only finished 18 days ago and they don't have data for it yet?0

I don't know is that the reason. The application was sent just after the new Tax Year started, so we thought they would use that. But they haven't.
So is that the reason? Many Thanks.0 -
yes thats the reason,AFAIK they never use the latest tax year0

They will use 2011 and 2013 next year.0

So is this a rule that they can or have to, or?
Can I appeal and state use this year. Or is that a decision for them?
Sorry I have never done this before and don't have a clue :-(0 -

The benefit year runs from the first Sunday in January.
The claim you make falls into a given benefit year (this year - 2013).
The last two complete tax years before the benefit year are used.
In the case of 2013 - 2010-11 and 2011-12
...
Was this claim made before the beginning of the year?0 -
The claim was made 2 weeks ago. Thanks in advance.0

from January 2014 they will use 11-12 and 12-130

Because you backdated the claim to start from within 2012....but given your application date this would be impossible to do. Which means the following must apply.
Because you had a previous claim to ESA which recently finished in the last 6 months...When did it finish? And what date did you claim from on your new claim?
The only other reasons would be- You typo'd the OP
- They typo'd the letter and they actually used ending April 11 and ending April 12
