Supercover mobile phone insurance

Hi,
I took out Supercover insurance for my Blackberry Bold 9900 on 18th April 2012 after buying my phone on 18th December 2011.
My phone has recently broken (software fault) therefore i have made a claim with Supercover insurance to fix or replace my phone, they asked me to send them a Proof of Purchase document which has to come from the company I purchased the phone from (Phones4U) which I did.
I called this afternoon to find out my claim has been declined, their reasoning was that the mobile phone was 6 months old at the time the policy was taken out (which as you can see from the dates, it was not) I asked to speak to a manager who informed me there was nothing i could do, even though their reason for not accepting my claim is completely invalid.
Can anybody give me some advise on the best way to deal with this please?
Thank You
Shaun
