Marks & Spencer Sale!! now final reductions

does anyone buy it at full price anymore?
Not in this family! Anyone still left buying at M&S takes note of the silly prices, then waits for the next sale - full price purchases, never!
It doesn't seem a very good business model to be persuading so many customers to hold back for the next sale.

I only ever go into M&S during the last few days of the sales as I like their bras & kids clothes but wouldn't dream of paying anything near full price.
I find the women's clothing either drab and boring or waaaaay over the top. The quality is rubbish. I always feel items of clothing and everything in there just feels thin and cheap. So I head to Primark and pay very little for the same material and don't mind if it only lasts a few months or if I get a stain on it.
Although Primark's ethics are questionable I agree that many pricier outlets are operating under the same ethics but making a larger profit which to me is actually worse than what Primark are doing.
Aaaaanyway I am so bored of M&S sales - there have been so many recently that my bra drawer is stocked well enough to last me years! The reductions at the minute are also very minimal and not tempting at all. Bring back manager's reductions - I used to get great bargains!
M&s is miles better than primark - which is a horrible shop, bit like a jumble sale.
I got a few things in the m&s sale. Trousers reduced from £50 to £20, jeans from £35 to £14, knickers reduced from £5 to £2.50, a few others bits too.
While I rate m&s I think their bras are cheap crap - panache or fantasie or similar for me.0 -

they never take much money off in these sales though. The stuff (in my opinion) is still overpriced.0

I bought my granddaughter a lovely dress yesterday, in the sale. £14 reduced to £10.50. Not what I would exactly call a sale price but loved it so paid for it. Went to buy little outfit for a baby and it was reduced BY £1. Ridiculous. Needless to say I left it. If I was that desperate for it I would have bought it last week when I saw it at full price. I do like M&S childrens clothes but sadly not women's. They really haven't got a clue, IMHO.0

Slightly off the point but aren't M&S having an AWFUL lot of sales/special offers recently?! I don't buy as much in M&S as I used to but do get workwear/basic tshirts/tights. I don't remember them ever having as many sales as they are having these days. I guess the same could be said for Debenhams as they always seem to be having a blue cross sale every other week too. I know it increases footfall when there are offers and sales but they must be doing really badly, discounting all the time. It's great for shoppers but not good for them with lower profits margins, causing less staff to be kept on, less investment in their shops, etc. or should I just be greatful the clothes are a bit cheaper when they have here offers on?
I really should have started a different thread shouldn't I? Feel free to shift it elsewhere.0 -
I wonder how long they will string this sale out?? Further reductions are usually a few pound off!!0
