Hi folks!
I am attempting to set up an old laptop as a Home Theatre type thing. I have bought this external USB sound card to try connect it up to my surround sound.
, (which helpfully came with no instructions!!)

The back of my surround sound looks like this

What cable(s) do i need to hook these two up?
I am a bit of a thicko when it comes to these things so god knows why I am attempting this haha
Thanks in advance for any help!!

One way is to connect the SPDIF Out on the sound card to the Digital Coax in on the surround system.
The problem is that the SPDIF out is optical and the coax in is copper.
You would probably need to get something like this604!0 -
Hi
What is the make and model of you surround sound device? If it has an optical input you should use this - if not the only hope is that you can set up the scart input to take the various channels- this may be unlikely.
I can see that it has an digital Coax input. So a converter may work

Don't expect to get brilliant quality sound - you are using low cost items, but they should be OK to get a feel for what a HTPC can do.0 -
So I type slowly!0
