i dont find it weird every child is different mine still has one at 3 yes i want him off it but he will only have it for bed and if he asks during the day i manage to say things like oh look at that car or anything just to take his mind off it! please bear in mind we are talking about a child here not an animal saying he is weird not weird just likes his dummy, yes op wants advice but not for someone to tell her that her son is weird he is a child !!!!!!!!!
hmmm to quote myself i said
" i find that ( the action / behaviour of a child coming home from school and having a "suck" ) very weird in a school age child TBH !"
never said HE is weird !
i dont think a child having a dummy is weird ,my youngest son had one,but IMO ( thats MY personal opinion ok ...) ......
you should try and wean off before going to school ,as the older they get the harder it is to break the habit0 -
Sorry rachie that is what you meant to say but not what was actually said. If you put in the word behaviour then it would have been clear. Such are the joys of English language when written and not said.hmmm to quote myself i said

But she stil didnt say that the child was weird,
She didnt say behaviour and she didnt say child.0 -

This implies the child is weird, The writer is saying that something is weird in a child of school age in other words the child has something weird. To make the sentence read as it was meant it needs to specify what was weird. As a hypnotist I know how careful wording has to be. The funny thing is that with the quote above a child would be more likely to read it as was written which is why you must get it right with children and not send mixed signals
Withan adult they should be able to reason what the writer was saying but as far as English grammar goes what was written was not what was meantWho I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
 !!!!!! everyone else can see what I was saying or trying to say !
If i was trying to say ( as you have said a trillion times) that it was the child that was weird then would this make sense .........
I find the child very weird in a school age child TBH "
hmm me thinks not
cant you just leave it now
 this is a chat forum not an English lesson
