Rossendales Collect

I had a silent call from 01706-833772 at 8.15 this morning, and my phone records show that they also phoned yesterday when I was out.
On checking this number online it turns out they are a bailiff firm, Rossendales Collect, and are notorious for harrassment tactics on behalf of debt collectors.
However I have no debts, don't owe anyone a penny, so why would they suddenly be pestering me? I have had this phone number since June 2008, so surely anyone who had it previously would have been dealt with by now if they had debts.
I fully intend to ignore any further calls, and not have anything to do with this mob, but it is disconcerting all the same. Just thought I'd post to see if anyone else has had a problem with this lot even though they don't owe anyone anything?

Not necessarily unfortunately, they could be in the business of buying old debts and trying to chase them. Alternatively, someone could have made up a phone number when they signed up for credit, or they could well be fishing around for people with the same / similar name to yours.0 -
Update:
They just rang again, and I answered. They asked to speak to a person I've never heard of. I told them that, she asked my name "for their records" and said they'd get me "removed from the list".
Oh and she also mentioned a road name and asked if this was where I am, and I said no. Mistaken identity then. Panic over (I hope!). Phew!!!
ETA: Bit of research: I looked for the person's name in this town on 192.com, and one was found with the same start postcode as where I live. Didn't want to pay for credits to find full address. However it lists other people who lived at the same address in 2006-2008 and there are 10, mostly with fairly "elderly" first names. People living there in previous years number about 40, so I'm guessing it's a care home! Tsk tsk fancy not settling your debts before going into a retirement home.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
