I thought the unemployment was bad in Nottingham.

    Source?

I am not aware that unemployment is more of a problem here than elsewhere. None of my friends are unemployed at the moment, and those that have been made redundant have found other work quickly.

OP, there is also a call centre at Boots at Beeston. I believe they recruit through an agency, not sure which one.

Well, the unemployment is dire here on Merseyside. Many's the time I have felt like getting out of the jobless hole.

They're a scam company. Don't fall for it.

Merseyside is 100 miles from Nottingham, not sure of the connection?

No, I wasn't trying to make a connection with Nottingham. I was just saying how bad the unemployment is on Merseyside.

"They're a scam company. Don't fall for it."

Had a feeling they might be when I came across what appeared to be "linked" companies. Any pointers to forums or discussion sites on them?

No idea, sorry. My experience just comes from 2 people I know that applied for jobs, got them, and then were screwed around.

If you don't like Notts - feel free to leave :p :rotfl:

We aren't all unwashed people either tyvm :)

You must be the only other person in Notts who has a bath before going out anywhere :rotfl:

There's somebody who visits the Aldi in Kirkby regularly. You can smell when they've been shopping.

To get back on topic, I'm no expert but I think unemployment is more of a problem with the younger generation. Not that they're all a bunch of scroungers or anything. It's just when the job market is so competitive here (700 people applied for 4 part time roles in a Costa somewhere), why would they go for the school leavers when they can take their pick from people with 20 years' experience?

Possibly best not to make a judgment about everyone based on one smelly person?
