Change of circumstances

I live alone in receipt of income support and incapacity benefit. My flat is mortgaged, the interest is currently paid for as is my council tax.

Its possible that my daughter and partner may move in with me. They are both employed.

Can anyone tell me how this would affect my benefits? Also am i allowed to have them stay as guests for any length of time before i have to tell anyone?

Thanks...

Unless they are just staying as overnight or weekend guests then you must let the DWP know asap.

I'm not sure how it will affect the income support you get, but a qualified welfare rights advisor should be able to tell you this.

As they are employed it would affect your council tax & of course any single person reduction you would qualify for.

It's best to seek qualified advice & make sure that any living arrangements are completely above board, rather than risk being accused of commiting benefit fraud by dwp/local council.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

If your partner works over 16 hrs, you won't be able to get Income Support anymore, but your Incapacity Benefit will not be affected. Your C Tax Benefit will also be affected

If only your daughter moved in her income would affect your mortgage interest from Income Support, and your C Tax Benefit
