If you work for the NHS, you can do ECDL for free - and this covers word processing using Office 2000 or 2003.
In theory, it can all be done online. But in practice, it's a bit shaky in Internet Explorer, and it doesn't work at all with Mozilla. Operating systems other than Windows are not supported. However, tutor supported training sessions at a hospital or PCT head office near you are free too.
