Foreign Exchange Transfer

Hi,

I have to move some EUROS to the UK from my Italian account, and was wondering if there was a cheaper way of transfering money than a standard bank transfer which use ridiculous exchange rates.

The transfer is quite large (proceeds from a flat).

If anyone has any ideas or experiences, please let me know your thoughts.

cheers
AJ

    erpatata,
Yes there are cheaper ways. On a recommendation I use HIFX to transfer money and they are fine. They don't charge up front fees and their rates are better than the banks. I used them on a friend's recommendation, however, would only rate them as fine rather than wonderful. There are other similar organisations around, that are better than banks. Try googling 'foreign exchange transfers' for other options
