There will have been CPZ signs at the entrance to the zone.

Check them out and see if the restriction applies on a Sunday. There is no requirement for upright signs at each yellow line within a CPZ (controlled parking zone).

Look on the Council's website for info about the zones, and/or check whether any signs are missing at any possible entrance to that zone (they do NOT need to put CPZ signs at every single street, just around all possible ways into the zone itself). Find the missing or obscured sign and you've got a case!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    10am to 5pm on Sunday

Hi again. I just went there and there are no "There will have been CPZ signs at the entrance to the zone" any kind of CPZ signs at all. I have walked whole street up and down twice.
  • Maybe the zone extends beyond just that street. As Coupon says, they "do NOT need to put CPZ signs at every single street." The signs must be at every entrance to the entire zone. So you must check the boundaries of the whole zone, and ensure there are signs at every entrance. If even one is missing, then you can argue that it is possible to enter the zone unaware, and would kill the PCN.

Its not just the street but a "Zone" so the entrance may be streets away. If there is any way of entering the zone without there being signs then there is a let out.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

As I said already, below. :)

Could have saved yourself the walk or at least extended it to check the circumference of the zone.
