My problem is as follow:
My step Daughter applied for student's loan for 2013-2014 but during the last 3 years she went abroad for holidays on April 2011 to South America with her mother and was abducted by her biological father, nothing we could do as she was 17 and Home office couldn't help
She returned to UK in October 2011 (6 months abroad) she had to repeat year 12 and we have a letter she returned to the 6th form.
Do you think her been abroad can affect her eligibility?
I have proof with her tickets she traveled with intentions to return to the UK with her mother and then her return ticket in October. I also have one examination made in January 2011 while at 6th form and from June 2012 as well.

They sent a letter asking:

Can you please provide us with your address details for the period 01/09/2012 to the present day
I appreciate you had some troubles in 2011 with not been able to reside in the UK for a period of time, but if you could please provide us with details of your residency either side of that incident.

Help please, thank you

I guess the reasonable thing to do is send them the evidence that they are asking for and see what their response is to that.

Help isn't needed because you don't know what the Student Finance
    response will be yet.

Although I do find it slightly strange (if I have understood correctly) that your step daughter was abducted by her natural father (and there was nothing you could do) yet when you finished your time abroad in September 11 your stepdaughter 'managed' to return to the UK in October 11 (??)

Thanks for your reply, probably you are rigth and I am worrying too much, I was looking to see if she will still be ilegible having been away 6 moths or because I was abroad 1 year or if we need to provide any additional/relevant information now or in the future so we can prepare in advance.
Not sure why you found strange I returned and she did later, I will have to go into too personal things to explain :o but as I said if you are not 18 or over you are not allowed to travel abroad without permission from your "biological" parents. Eventually through the local courts we managed to get her back and the local social care department helped us.
We've gone through an awful ordeal and now she's back we are looking forward for her to continue her education and hopefuly this incident doesn't affect her future plans.
