I now regret saying on a post last night that I had no unexpected problems with my car. It went in today to have what I thought was a knackered wheel bearing replaced only to be told that having listened to all 4x wheels bearings with a stethoscope, they are all fine.
Garage reckon it's o/s driveshaft bearing or 'something' in the gearbox.
The noise is a whine that increases with road speed, not engine speed and is there whether the clutch is engaged or disengaged. Doesn't make a difference on corners, bumps etc..
Any ideas? I'm imagining £300 for driveshaft and c.£700-800 for box!
Car is a 58-plate Laguna 2.0dCi (same engine and box I believe as Nissan Qashqai)
Cheers!
