    Thanks everyone. These seats SS provide don't actually fit across the bath, and won't take any weight because of that. I'm struggling to believe that SS have been so slack in checking.

    I'll have to find out exactly what the recommendation was, but I'm 99% certain it was for a walk in shower. It has been suggested that SS can take her to a local residential home where there is a hoist, but she wants the dignity of washing herself, not relying on someone helping her, and I can understand that.
  • I would suggest contacting your local councillor(s) to find out why Social Services are taking so long on this. They know the people at the local council to talk to about this most likely better than your MP does.
