I am after a good teeth whitening kit, paste,strips.......
I have a zoom teeth whitening session booked for next month but i am in bad need of a over the counter product which is recommend. Have a big do at the end of this month and would really like to sort out my teeth.
If anyone could recommend something which will big up results fast that would be wonderful.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. OP, do a forum search here, there are lots of posts about this.
Best advice? Go to your dentist. May be expensive, but it's the safest way to get a professional to sort your teeth. Have recently seen the results of whitening done by non-dental professionals, and it ain't pretty.0 -
Who have you booked zoom with? The old zoom system is no longer used by dentists although there is a new system that is about the be launched to comply with recent legislation.
If you buy anything over the counter or on the internet it will be either illegal, useless or dangerous. Which? Reports over 60% of people experienced problems after buying kits from the internet and numerous consumer surveys from daily mail to good morning have shown legal kits might remove some stain but don't whiten teeth.
Take Cooper18 s excellent advice.0 -
I'm with Cooper18- money saved on anything related to your teeth is probably just not going to worth it, in the long run.0

Just wanted to point out I'm not a dentist, dental nurse or dental technician. Or affiliated to any of them in any way!
But have recently seen a guy who had gums whiter than his teeth. I believe this is what burns look like. But he didn't pay much for that effect, so that's alright....0 -
You can see plenty of that on stamp out illegal tooth whitening page on Facebook and worse. There are photos taken from beauticians sites of their "successes" with some horrific burns etc. There have been numerous cases of damage from one lady whose asthma was made permanently worse to people who have needed root treatment on damaged teeth.0

Good lord! Just looked at that site. Ouch! And some of those patients - well, having yellow teeth seems the least of their dental worries, and I'm no expert! They had manky teeth, now they have manky whiter teeth, with a hint of gum burn.0 -
Sorry for posting in the wrong part of the forum.
Thanks for the replies and tips. I am now reading through some old posts on teeth whitening.
I am booked with Vitaldent Wellbeing Studio, just next to Liverpool Street Station. I got the offer off Groupon. "Zoom Laser Teeth Whitening With Dental Examination, Aitflow Sparkle And Polish"
Anyone head of them BTW?
I bought a toothpaste which is meant to be good for whitening, but reading old posts these are just a waste of time.0 -
They are a dental surgery so you should be fine , as the examination should make sure you are suitable for whitening. However I must say the problem with one stop whitening is there tends to be quite a bit of fadeback afterwards. In my opinion a more stable result is obtained with tray whitening over some weeks.
Some whitening toothpastes may get rid of superficial stain but none will whiten teeth. Most are very abrasive and have to be used carefully.0 -
This is highly illegal and dangerous.
It is illegal for anyone to sell 35% anywhere in the EU to anyone and it is illegal for anyone , even a dentist to use this on someone.
So you have bought a chemical you are putting inside your body , on one of the most sensitive parts off the internet from a seller who will know what they are selling is highly illegal.
Does that seem sensible or safe to you?
It is also against GDC guidelines for dental labs to make whitening trays direct for the public so the technicians who do this are either illegal ie not registered , or are doing something which will see them struck off.
The EU banned whitening gels over 6% for a good reason. 35% can do permanent damage at best , and used regularly can have the potential to cause some very nasty problems .
Howver the legal limit for gels sold to the public is 0.1% so the stuff you bought is hundreds of time over the limit.
If you value your health stop this and do not recommend it to those who do value their health.
