Connecting an I Pod dock to external speakers

I'm asking for some technical help in connecting a "Singing panda" (which I believe is basically an I Pod dock) to the speakers on a HI-FI system ie. radio/cassette/CD player. The I Pod dock has an AUX socket on the rear which I assume is the speaker connection but the speaker wires are the old fashioned single wires pushed into a clip on the rear of the HI-FI. So I have four wires at one end and one socket at the other end, therefore I'm hoping someone can suggest some kind of connector to suit and also whether it will work or not without an amplifier?
Thanks in anticipation.

The Aux on the panda is an input, not an output.

You can't drive a pair of speakers from this.
What kind of stereo system do you want to play the iPod through? Make and model?0 -
It's an old Philips C280 mini hifi system. The reason I'm asking is that my daughter wants to play her own tracks from her I pod at the party she's having, and rather than using the "panda" which isn't a bad sound we thought of playing the tracks through the HI-FI speakers which are wired in around the room and give a much better sound.0

As said, you will need an amp or even pre-amp as well to drive the speakers from the ipod.
What connection are on the hifi, any kind of input.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Does this C280 have any inputs? I can't find an English user manual online for it.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I was hoping someone would say all I need is some kind of plug but having read the replies it seems that it isn't that simple. It's only a one off for a party so we'll have to make do with what we've got. Anyway thanks for trying.0

Actually there may be a simple way.
Did search and it seems the hifi has twin cassette. Could try a car cassette adapter, few pound from amazon or maybe poundland sell them, it is the small cable coming from cassette that may be problem, but could be worth a try for a couple of pound.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Now there's a thought, thanks I'll try that.0

Just an update, bought a cassette adaptor and tried several ways to get it to work through the "sing sing panda" but couldn't get it to work then as a last resort tried it connected straight to the I pod and hey presto it works!
It seems to be stereo but the volume is only adjustable through the I pod.
But beggers cant be choosers.0
