unfairly accused with negative feedback

hi, just had a buyer accuse me through neg feedback of selling fake childrens toy action figures. the figures i sold are genuine as i purchased them from house of fraser. have reported the buyers comments and contacted them to ask them to remove. i sold the figures out of their packaging to keep postage costs down and this was explained in the listing, before the buyer left the feedback he had contacted me about his concerns and i offered to send him the packaging or pictures of the packaging, the item was an auction that i started at 99p. this is my first neg feedback from a total of 367 anyone had experience of this type of thing? are ebay likely to believe me and remove the feedback?

  • You should have posted them in the box I think, as toys have an age appropriate CE mark and the battery info, and where they were made, and barcodes etc, and so a parent is advised on toys usually to retain the box for future reference, anyone can photograph a box later , maybe the guy knows his toys and his feedback sounds like it wasnt malicious.

You should send a feedback revision form and scan and email him your the house of fraser receipt to prove yourself, as without boxes, receipts and any other info they could well be fake or knock offs or whatever and you cant prove otherwise.

If your buyer has some reason to suspect the goods are iffy ,maybe he or she collects this particular item (ie Dr Who or Star Wars items) and he knows his stuff ....
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"

thanks for the reply, in my original listing i explained the item would be removed from packaging to make shipping easier, i wish i sent the paper bits from the packaging with the item now. good idea about sending him copy of my HoF confirmation. i purchased a large quantity of these so dont really want a false accusation on my feedback.

Just respond to the FB saying "buyer supplied with copy of receipt showing items are genuine"

(then send him a copy of the receipt)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Have you received an email to explain why they believe the toys are fake?
Was it because of no packaging?

You made a bulk purchase from the "house of fraser" to sell on eBay?
    Is this a business?

not a business just bought the item for my kids, seemed a great price. they loved them and i noticed they were selling on ebay for a lot more Hof didnt have loads left so bought them all. did some research and found they are no longer in production so makes them more saleable. more of an opportunity than a business i guess?

If they were very saleable and out of production, may not have been a real smart move to seperate them from the box? Just sayin.

The correct answer was "no, just bought them for my kids".

To add you went back for more to sell on EBAY = Buying to sell at a profit = a business and taxable.

Yep, business seller so just tell buyer to return for a full refund and then Send a feedback revision request.
