How come Barclays won't accept me...?

Options
So tried the Barlclays pre-application thingy but i kept getting

"Thank you for using our pre-application check. Unfortunately, your present circumstances mean you are not eligible to apply for a Barclaycard."

Why won't they accept me? :\ I don't have bad credit I've got two credit cards one with Aqua and one with Capital One I've got a contract phone been paying it on time never late and a littlewoods account to been paying that on time i checked my credit score with Noodle it is 3/5 and its all green dots never paid late or anything.
Could it be because i turned 18 a few months ago? o.O

Yes. I expect that has a huge bearing on it.*

Are you on the electoral roll?

Also, don't put any weight on that noddle 3/5 lark, they've rated me 3/5 since they launched, but it hasn't stopped me taking out a mortgage and countless other financial products!

*EDIT: not necessarily due to your age, but due to your length of history and the fact you appear to have gathered several credit products in the space of a few months (I'm assuming this, as you surely didn't have any of them pre-18?).

I've only got my credit cards and little woods account in the last four months and my contract phone has been around 6 months now.
Im pretty sure i am on the electoral roll on Noddle it says this
"This shows the dates that your name was registered on the electoral roll at your current address. The information is supplied to us by your local council."
But below that it says this "Current status Not present on Edited Roll"

Don't worry about the above, that just means you won't be on the version of the ER the Council's sell to all and sundry, you'll still be on it for CRA (and voting, of course) purposes.

I expect Barclaycard's apprehensiveness is down to your limited history and number of new accounts; perhaps leave it six-twelve months without applying for anything, then try again, then you should be good to go (assuming that the accounts you have now are well managed, of course!).

In fact, if you hover over the pair of glasses in noddle next to your electoral roll status, this confirms my last post :)

"There are two versions of the Electoral Roll. When someone decides to opt out this means that they don’t appear on the edited register, as they have requested that their details not be used for marketing related purposes. You cannot opt out of the full register because of the restricted uses of the data."
