I live in Australia and am owed $US 2500 by a resident in England.
He has admitted in emails that he owes me this money but has not done so.
I know the village that he lives in but not the address.
Questions:
Can I as a non Uk resident use the Small Claims Court in UK?
Do I need his address?
if so, how can I find this?
Cheers
Rosemary
I am in a similar situation but looking to file against an American company based in Florida for £10,000. Also wondering the same.0 -

You may find this link useful although this is a complicated subject. And think about enforcement."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Hi all
I am after some advice.
We had an issue with a local builder who didn't complete the agreed work despite having been paid in advance (yes I know, stupidly we fell for his sob story).
We have issued a LBA but although it was sent Royal Mail signed for, nobody was in and it has been sitting awaiting collection for just over a month.
If the letter has not been collected, and therefore obviously not read, can I go ahead with the next steps and start the claim through the small claims court?
Or do I need to re-send another copy of the letter and see if that gets signed for/collected? We know we have the right address for delivery of the letter.
Grateful for any assistance you can provide.

I rent from a housing association, they subcontracted a job on the house next door(semi detached). The sub-contractor set fire to the house but because the workmen didn't follow safety procedure the companies insurance will not pay out (I didn't have contents insurance). Both companies are denying liability.
Who is responsible for my loss?0 -
Got a successful judgement today but forgot to add a lost earnings amount. Can I do this retrospectively?Interested in property investment, web tech, social media, forex, equities. Also a proud father & entrepreneur of sorts.0

I have a CCJ against a small Ltd company which is run by two directors.
Lets say the company is called Indigo Ltd trading as indigo publishing. The sole employ of the company are the two directors who do all the work involved.
My judgement is against "indigo ltd trading as indigo publishing" for just under £1900.
What the directors have done is close the company "indigo ltd" and opened a new company, "purple ltd". Yet the new company is trading as the same business name as before, "indigo publishing". It is the same two directors running it and doing the exact same work as before.
So this has been done simply to try to avoid paying the judgement.
Is there anything I can do?0 -

Only if it was agreed before hand that you would be paidPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Hi. As a result of my stupidity and being too trusting, I'm owed a small amount of money for a sale from a Gumtree ad. Trouble is, I don't have the person's full name or address, only first name & mobile phone number. If I wanted to persue it, does the court have the ability to track him down from that to serve the notice?0
